Yay, a Daily Prompt I care to answer. I’ve found a few lately unappealing. Titled ‘Clean Slate’ it says ‘Explore the room you’re in as if you’re seeing it for the first time. Pretend you know nothing. What do you see? Who is the person who lives there?’
Well, I’d say not a teenager. Obviously there are elements of adolescence, but not too much. The crammed bookshelf might suggest someone who really enjoys literature and reading. Perhaps an intellectual fellow. The DVD’s on the rack suggest a liking for action/adventure films. It matches the book genres, so there’s clearly an attachment there.
The double bed, white sheets suggests that this isn’t a child but someone more grown, and the cat on the bed suggests that the room is fairly quiet and not a hectic environment. The bed is not made however, so they aren’t a freakishly tidy person. The late Bob Marley canvas says that it may not be a teen – they aren’t normally into Reggae. You never know, though.
The desk is fairly tidy. A Rhodia notebook, a Moleskine too. Perhaps a writer? Writers carry those such things. Definitely an organised person, but we won’t leaf through them. Under the desk, neatly lined up, are eight fountain pens. A collection perhaps. That might suggest a more mature figure, perhaps in touch with the past. It also link with the notebooks as a writer’s hobby. There is also paper and envelopes – the resident writes letters, it seems. There is one on the desk too, handwritten. Another three Rhodia notebooks under the desk. One personal journal, one seems to be for recording ink colours and another a general notebook come blog-book. Yes, an organised person it would seem! In the drawer there are many bottles of ink, and a Leuchtturm notebook. It is filled with poems.
There is an en-suite bathroom. It’s clean, with a shower, toilet and sink. Doesn’t really say much though. Except that it isn’t a cesspit!
So, who lives here? An organised fellow – a writer perhaps. A lover of books and reading, literature. A writer of poetry and prose, it would seem. A nice guy, perhaps.
